Off to a good start

No going over the dam. Had to take the canoe for a little walk…

Surprised at the large number of large fish in the falls.
In many places, these beautiful flowers lined the banks of the river.
We had the river to ourselves with the exception of a few fishermen and swimmers.
Could not see what was the attraction for all these butterflies… but something sure was drawing them to this spot.

The river had a good current. We were able to make a leisurely rate of 3,8 km per hour.

We found this lovely creek flowing into the river.
A bit hidden in the trees, was a large waterfall.

Sunbathing ducks around every bend

The river appeared rather wild for being only a few kilometers from Prague, the Capital of the Czech Republic.

There were a few rough spots in the river but for those, my camera was safely packed away.

The mouth of the Jirzera is where it meets the Labe (at Toušeň lázně).

Done for the day.
The canoe company arrived just on time to take it away. It was a great afternoon on the river.
