The GREAT ROAD TRIP of 2016
a visual record of an amazing trip, through an amazing country
Starting off from Metro Detroit on June 23, we headed out of town in the early morning hours, excited to explore the American West!
On July 10th, we arrived back home, after driving 5,150 miles!
The States we traveled through include:
- Michigan
- Indiana
- Illinois
- Wisconsin
- Minnesota
- South Dakota
- Wyoming
- Montana
- North Dakota
On our trip, we visited the following National – Parks, Monuments, Historic Places, Forests and Lakeshores:
- Baha’i House of Worship (National Register of Historic Places)
- Badlands National Park
- Mount Rushmore National Memorial
- Bighorn National Forest
- Devils Tower National Monument
- Yellowstone National Park (the first National Park of the United States, established 100 years ago, in 1916!)
- Glacier National Park
- Theodore Roosevelt National Park
- Apostles Islands National Lakeshore
- Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
We had nearly perfect weather for the whole trip as well as good health and high spirits. It was a long-time dream that finally come true!
