Day 31: Back to the Trail

I spent quite a while in Leon on my way out yesterday and then another hour in a wonderful church in Valverde de laVergin.

The front of the church. Statues of Saints

Church in VillardeVirgen

In the church with homage to Mexico!

So I walked from 8am until a little after 5pm, around 20 km. My feet were screaming!!

I am in a small village called Villarde Mazarife and planning to go halfway to Astorga today, around 15akm.

Entrance to my tonight’s town

The churches continue to fill me with awe and the religious aspects of the Camino fill me with humbleness and gratitude. It has been an amazing journey with blessings I could never have imagined.

I heard yesterday that pilgrims are coming into Santiago at the rate of 1500/day!!
Unbelievable!!

So far I have been able to get a bed every day. Many are booking ahead, which I refuse to do, even if I did have a phone!
