Day 47: Slowing down?

I am tired today!!
Maybe I will take it easier today. 24.8 km yesterday and 22 km the day before!

From Palais de Rei

I forget I am old!!

… 11 hours later …
I started out dragging this morning but by noon and 70% chocolate squares and 400 mg ibuprofen I was chugging along pretty well.

Corn storage

The bridge going to Melide

More cows

Beautiful flowers

This one too

Reminds me of my kids horse when they were young

A house covered in vines. Beautiful!

I walked almost 16 km more downhill than up today and very beautiful. The birds singing in the early morning, the morning mist and the beautiful scenery make it so wonderful even when I am tired.

Huge scallop shell on a restaurant.
St James body was discovered covered in scallop shells so they are very much evident on the Camino

Statues

Arrow of scallop shells over the door pointing the way

A well where pilgrims were pretending to wash clothes

I am now in a fairly large city called Melide where I was able to get ibuprofen and my meds for my extended stay. No script needed , no Dr. to intervene, just a visit to the Farmacia and voila!
20$ for all 5, a months supply!
Boy are we getting screwed in the States!!!!

Galacia has Celtic connections and my dessert tonight is Celtic!
Absolutely delicious!

My dessert in a local restaurant.
Notice the scallop!!

… revived after the dessert …
It’s really interesting for many pilgrims the Camino has been about connections with others, for me, it has been about connecting with myself and God, not that I haven’t enjoyed the people I have met,but the best part has been being alone,

The waiter took my picture
